Training
Given enough time your horse will be taught an array of tasks.
Such as:
- Standing in place for the Farrier, when mounting, when tacking in the cross ties, while ground tied, and while tied to the trailer
- Trailer loading and hauling with ease.
- Learning lead departures, transitions, backing, side passing, and lead changes.
- Working cows, being roped off of, dragging tarps, trail etiquette, loping obstacles like the pyramid or jumping logs and much much more.
- Working in a round pen, arena, and on trail.
The idea is to introduce the horse to as much as possible to ensure a confident, willing, and relaxed horse for the owner to enjoy at all times.
Dan highly recommends taking a lesson with your horse while in training so that you will be able to keep your horse as good as when he leaves. Please keep in mind that every horse is different and training could take longer than expected or surprisingly sometimes not quite as long
Colt Starting
Dan believes that the first 90 days in a horses career are the most important days of his life. With the background that Dan has from his Dressage , Jumping, Roping, Cutting, Polo, Driving, Cross Country, Reining, and Trail, he will incorporate his knowledge into your horses training. After Dan’s program, you and your horse will have a connection that will lead to a successful partnership of any discipline you choose.
Rehabilitating Adult Horses
Dan rehabs horses that have either skipped steps in their training somewhere or just have problems that get worse with time. This is done by starting the horse over from scratch and helping the horse where needed. No matter what the case and if given enough time, your horse will have more confidence, you will have a better connection to achieve a successful career, or just a more pleasurable ride.
